According to the reports Dubai International Airports, (DXB) is gearing up for an exceptionally busy period as the UAE's summer school break aligns with the forthcoming six-day-long Eid Al Adha holidays. The airport authority estimates that approximately 3.5 million guests will pass through DXB between June 20 and July 3, with an average daily traffic of around 252,000 passengers. These figures indicate the significant surge in travel activity expected during this period.
DXB is making preparations for a notable increase in outbound travelers, with over a quarter of a million expected to depart between June 23 and 25. June 24 is anticipated to be the busiest day, as nearly 100,000 passengers are scheduled to leave the airport.
Additionally, the conclusion of the Eid Al Adha holiday is expected to witness a surge in arrivals, surpassing previous records. On July 2, daily traffic is projected to exceed 305,000 passengers, creating an exceptionally busy period for DXB.
"Dubai International's recovery has been spectacular this year as evidenced by the impressive traffic growth in the first quarter," remarked Essa Al Shamsi, Senior Vice President of Terminal Operations at Dubai Airports. "As a result, the seasonal peaks this year are expected to be the busiest since 2019, and we are preparing ourselves accordingly."
Emirates has provided essential travel advice to passengers, encouraging them to adopt certain measures for a seamless travel experience during the busy period. Passengers are advised to arrive at Dubai International Airport up to 3 hours before their scheduled flight to ensure sufficient time for check-in and security procedures. Being mindful of their boarding time is emphasized to avoid any delays in reaching the departure gate.
To expedite processes and reduce time spent at the airport, passengers are urged to take advantage of various online options. An emirate recommends downloading the Emirates app, which offers a convenient platform for multiple travel-related tasks. The app allows passengers to check in online through Emirates.com, receiving digital boarding passes either through the app or via email. This digital approach eliminates the need for physical boarding passes.
In light of over 80,000 passengers anticipated to depart from Dubai during busy days, following these guidelines will help streamline travel processes and contribute to overall passenger satisfaction.
