On the occasion of B.R. Ambedkar Jayanti, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced that the state's "Zero Poverty Scheme" will be named after Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. Targeting the opposition, Yogi Adityanath stated that both the Congress and Samajwadi Party have consistently disrespected Baba Saheb. He added that they never allowed Baba Saheb’s memorial to be built in Delhi. It’s worth noting that today marks the 134th birth anniversary of Baba Saheb, which is being celebrated across the country.

In his address, Yogi Adityanath also said that despite being the most populous state, Uttar Pradesh has become the first state to take steps toward the Zero Poverty Scheme. He further highlighted various welfare initiatives his government undertook over the past eight years. He announced that under this scheme, the government aims to simultaneously provide all essential facilities to around 14 to 15 lakh (1.4 to 1.5 million) families.

उत्तर प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ ने बीआर अम्बेडकर जयंती के उपलक्ष पर ये घोषणा किया है कि यूपी के जीरो पॉवर्टी स्कीम का नाम डॉक्टर बीआर अम्बेडकर के नाम पर रखा जाएगा। वहीं योगी आदित्यनाथ ने विपक्ष पर निशाना साधते हुए कहा है कि कांग्रेस और समाजवादी पार्टी दोनों ही बाबा साहेब का अपमान करते आ रही थी। उन्होंने बाबा साहेब का मेमोरियल दिल्ली में बनने नहीं दिया था। आपको बता दें कि आज बाबा साहेब की 134वी जयंती पूरे देश भर में मनाई जा रही है। वहीं अपने संबोधन में योगी आदित्यनाथ ने ये भी कहा कि जनसंख्या की दृष्टि से सबसे बड़ा राज्य होने के बावजूद भी उत्तर प्रदेश ने जीरो पॉवर्टी स्कीम के तरफ कदम बढ़ाने वाला पहला राज्य बन गया है। जबकि उन्होंने पिछले आठ सालों में सरकार के द्वारा किये गए अलग अलग प्रकार के जन कल्याण कार्यों की भी चर्चा की है और ये भी कहा है कि इस स्कीम के तहत उनकी सरकार चौदह से पंद्रह लाख परिवारों को सभी प्रकार की सुविधा एक साथ देने जा रही है।
