A day after PM Modi visited the Adampur Air Base to commend IAF personnel for their role in Operation Sindoor—India’s retaliatory strike after the Pahalgam terror attack—Pakistan's PM Shehbaz Sharif rushed to Sialkot and Pasrur airbases in a clear imitation, accompanied by top officials including Army Chief General Munir. The Pakistani bases had suffered damage during the recent India-Pakistan conflict, triggered when Pakistan backed terrorists targeted Indian civilians. While Modi met troops and praised their bravery, also rejecting Pakistani claims about the S-400 system at Adampur, Sharif interacted with PAF personnel involved in “Bunyad-e-Marsous,” Pakistan’s failed cover for terrorist camps destroyed by India. Modi later addressed the nation, asserting that India would not bend under nuclear threats, that terror can’t coexist with trade or talks, and made clear that Operation Sindoor marks a new, uncompromising stance against cross-border terrorism, with future actions hinging on Pakistan’s conduct.
