A situation of conflict has unfolded in Junagadh, Gujarat, with a focus on the notice issued for the demolition of the HazratRoshan Shah Pir Baba Dargah, which is alleged to be an illegal structure. Following the issuance of this notice, a disturbing turn of events occurred, leading to a violent outbreak. A substantial gathering of approximately 200 to 300 individuals convened near the dargah on 16th June night, engaging in hostile actions. This unruly assembly resorted to pelting rocks at police officers, causing significant damage to a police post and even setting ablaze several police vehicles.
Tension escalated when officials from the Junagadh Municipal Corporation reached the Majewadi Gate to affix the notice outside the Dargah, triggering a chaotic situation. As a result of the incident, the police have detained 174 individuals for their alleged involvement.
The exact cause of the civilian's death will be determined through a post-mortem examination, although law enforcement authorities suspect that a fatal blow from a stone hurled by the mob led to the tragic outcome.
