Uttar Pradesh Government launched the Nand Baba Milk Mission Scheme to boost milk development and production
As per the reports, the Uttar Pradesh government has taken a significant step towards making the state a leader in milk development and production with the launch of the Nand Baba Milk Mission scheme. With an allocated budget of Rs 1,000 crores, the scheme aims to provide a comprehensive framework for the growth of the milk industry in the state. The initiative, inaugurated on Tuesday, focuses on enabling milk producers to sell their milk at fair prices through dairy cooperative societies in rural areas.
Dharampal Singh, the cabinet minister for the Livestock and Dairy Development Department, emphasized the department's ongoing efforts to bolster the rural economy, ensure favorable prices for farmers' milk, and enhance agro-based infrastructure. The Nand Baba Milk Mission scheme plays a crucial role in realizing these objectives.
One of the key components of the scheme is the formation of Dairy Farmer Producer Organizations (Dairy FPOs). These organizations will facilitate the sale of milk directly in the villages where it is produced, enabling milk producers to have a more streamlined and profitable distribution process. By establishing Dairy FPOs, the government aims to empower farmers and create a sustainable ecosystem that benefits all stakeholders involved in the milk supply chain.
The Nand Baba Milk Mission scheme is a strategic effort by the Uttar Pradesh government to revolutionize the milk industry and make it a significant contributor to the state's economy. Through this initiative, the government intends to encourage milk production, improve milk quality, and enhance overall productivity in the dairy sector. By providing milk producers with a fair and transparent platform for selling their products, the scheme seeks to empower rural communities and promote equitable growth.
The launch of the Nand Baba Milk Mission scheme reflects the government's commitment to supporting the agricultural and dairy sectors, as well as its vision to position Uttar Pradesh as a frontrunner in milk development and production. As the scheme unfolds, it is expected to bring about positive changes in the lives of milk producers, uplift rural economies, and contribute to the overall progress of the state.
