On 6th September, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for five development projects valued at Rs 635 crore in Sonbarsa, according to an official statement. In his address, he emphasised that the key to a prosperous future for both current and future generations lies in effective models of development and security. He urged the public to support government initiatives rather than obstructing them, as these efforts are crucial for building a better future.
Adityanath stated that entrepreneurship can only flourish with development. He announced that arrangements have been made to provide interest-free loans to youth in two phases to help them establish enterprises.
In the first phase, interest-free loans of up to Rs 5 lakh will be provided, while in the second phase, the amount will increase to Rs 10 lakh. Under this scheme, youth taking out loans will only need to repay the principal amount, with the government covering the interest costs, Adityanath stated.
He also instructed officials to proceed with the construction of four-lane roads and ensure that existing houses are not demolished, even if it requires altering the road map.
In addition, Adityanath instructed that compensation be provided at four times the circle rate and emphasised strengthening security through the construction of a new police station in Sonbarsa. He also encouraged villagers to use the compensation money from land acquisition to purchase farms in remote areas and start new ventures.
Adityanath praised India's impressive progress under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, highlighting that the country has become a global powerhouse and the fifth-largest economy, with projections to move to third place within the next three years. He underscored that Uttar Pradesh will play a crucial role in this growth trajectory.
Adityanath reflected on the past, noting that there was a time when inaugurations and ceremonies seemed unimaginable in the state, with widespread issues such as encephalitis and general chaos. He claimed that the current government has effectively addressed these problems, tackling both diseases like encephalitis and crime.
He highlighted the transformation by stating, "There was a time when no outsider wanted to visit Gorakhpur. Today, even the President, Vice President, and Prime Minister visit Gorakhpur."
