US Congressman condemns attacks on Hindu temples, urges zero tolerance for phobia

Indian-American Congressman Shri Thanedar has denounced recent attacks on Hindu temples in the US, asserting that such incidents should not be accepted. Speaking on the matter, he emphasized the need to reject any form of Hinduphobia, underlining that religions promote love, mutual assistance, and benevolence.
Thanedar, who serves on the Homeland Security Committee, stated that he is engaging with committee members to enhance the capabilities of religious organizations. He aims to secure funds and resources to safeguard these institutions and combat any manifestations of Hinduphobia or hatred.
During the 'Ramayana across Asia and Beyond' event at the US Capitol Hill in Washington DC, Congressman Shri Thanedar expressed his views on the upcoming opening of the Ram Mandir, referring to it as a 'historic' moment.
The Congressman expressed that the construction of the temple is a source of pride for every Indian, describing it as a historic moment. He emphasized the cultural significance of the Ramayana epic, highlighting its role in uniting people. The Congressman noted that the appreciation for Ramayana extends beyond India, reaching 15 different countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
He emphasized that Ramayana goes beyond being an epic, representing a value system. Having grown up in a Hindu family, he shared that studying and singing verses from Ramayana is second nature to him.
Thailand's Ambassador to the US, Tanee Sangrat, expressed that the imminent opening of the Ram Mandir brings delight to people in numerous countries. As the event approaches, celebrations are already underway, with the Thai envoy highlighting the significance of celebrating the common culture across Southeast Asia and the Asia-Pacific region, symbolized by the return of Rama.
The 'Ramayana Across Asia and Beyond' event held at Capitol Hill brought together distinguished diplomats and US lawmakers to emphasize the contemporary geopolitical significance of cultural heritage.
Among the attendees was Thailand's Ambassador to the U.S., Tanee Sangrat, who described the occasion as an excellent opportunity to share the cultural richness of the Ramayana, a shared narrative in the Asia-Pacific region.
The event highlighted the importance of integrating Ramayana's teachings into modern governance, with a focus on understanding the civilizational qualities and values of the Indo-Pacific region. HinduACTion received acclaim for its foresight in promoting a deeper comprehension that aids American policymakers in fostering nuanced relationships with the 16 nations in the region.
