The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has added fugitive Indian gangster Satinderjeet Singh, also known as Goldy Brar, to its Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list. The agency has announced a reward of up to $1 million for information that leads to his capture.

The FBI said Singh is wanted in the United States for his alleged role in the Lawrence Bishnoi organised crime group. Authorities accuse the group of involvement in killings, shootings, kidnappings, extortion, drug trafficking and weapons trafficking across the US, Canada and other regions.

According to the FBI, Singh serves as the alleged North American leader of the Bishnoi group. He faces federal charges that include racketeering conspiracy, extortion-related offences and conspiracy to distribute controlled substances.

US authorities have also accused Singh and Bishnoi of ordering the 2023 killing of a prominent political and religious figure in Canada. The FBI said its wider investigation has focused on India-based transnational crime groups allegedly involved in violent crime, extortion and drug trafficking.

The agency believes Singh may be living in California or parts of Canada. It has warned that he should be considered armed and dangerous. The FBI has urged members of the public not to approach him and instead share any information with law enforcement.

FBI Los Angeles official Patrick Grandy said the agency was making Singh a top priority and offering up to $1 million for information leading to his capture.

Singh is the 543rd person to be placed on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted list, created in 1950. The agency's list seeks public assistance in locating high-priority fugitives.

The announcement comes after Operation Hardball, a US investigation that resulted in indictments against 37 people linked to three organised crime groups based in India.

Brar is also wanted in several cases in India. The Indian government designated him a terrorist under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act in January 2024.

Indian authorities have linked Brar to alleged extortion, targeted killings, weapons smuggling and other criminal activities. He has also been accused of involvement in the 2022 killing of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala.

Authorities have further accused Brar of operating extortion networks, issuing threats and arranging the smuggling of weapons, ammunition and explosives into India. He remains a fugitive and is wanted by law enforcement agencies in India and abroad.
