A charge man from the ordnance factory in Firozabad has been arrested for allegedly spying for Pakistan's intelligence agency, ISI. The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (UP ATS) detained Ravindra Kumar, along with his associate from Agra, accusing them of leaking sensitive military information to handlers based in Pakistan. Authorities believe that honey-trapped Kumar allegedly resorted to this espionage.
Officials reported that Ravindra Kumar, an employee at the Ordnance Factory in Hazratpur, Firozabad, had access to sensitive information. Investigations revealed that he passed highly confidential details to a woman associated with the ISI. The leaked information included daily production reports, confidential letters from the screening committee, a list of pending requisitions, and details about drones and the Gaganyaan project. A woman posing as Neha Sharma contacted Ravindra on Facebook last year. Even after revealing that she worked for Pakistan's intelligence agency, she successfully ensnared him in a honey trap.
During the investigation, authorities discovered that Ravindra had saved her contact as "Chandan Store Keeper 2" to hide their conversations. He is accused of sharing confidential documents with her via WhatsApp in exchange for financial benefits. During searches, the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (UP ATS) found sensitive information on Ravindra's mobile phone. This included classified details about logistics drone trials carried out by senior officers from the Ordnance Factory and the 51 Gorkha Rifles regiment. Officials revealed that Ravindra had direct contact with ISI handlers based in Pakistan and shared intelligence related to India's defence projects.
After Ravindra's arrest, ATS officials also took one of his associates into custody from Agra. The agency has found digital evidence, such as WhatsApp chats and confidential documents, which are now being examined as part of the investigation.
