Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the 'Fast Track Immigration Trusted Traveller Programme' (FTI-TTP) at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport. This initiative aims to revolutionise the travel experience for Indian nationals and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders by making it faster, easier, and more secure.
The facility is designed to reduce congestion at airports by offering expedited emigration and immigration clearance for pre-verified travellers, both arriving and departing. Terminal 3 at Delhi Airport now features eight electronic gates—four for arrivals and four for departures—to provide a seamless experience for programme participants. The number of counters may increase based on demand.
Amit Shah inaugurated the programme by unveiling dedicated counters at Terminal 3 for TTP beneficiaries. The FTI-TTP is a government initiative aimed at enhancing the travel experience for Indian nationals and OCI cardholders.
Delhi Airport is operated by Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), a subsidiary of GMR Airport Infrastructure Limited. "We at DIAL are very proud to join hands with the Government of India for launching the FTI-Trusted Traveller Programme at Delhi Airport. This programme will offer a world-class and seamless travel experience to all international passengers opting for this facility," said Videh Kumar Jaipuriar.
To register for the Fast Track Immigration Trusted Traveller Programme (FTI-TTP), applicants must complete the process online, which takes up to a month. Applicants' passports must have at least six months of validity at the time of application, and membership in the programme will be co-terminus with passport validity.
The application process requires submission of biometrics, including fingerprints and a facial image, along with other necessary information in the application form. Registration under FTI-TTP will be finalised after the necessary verifications and confirmation of eligibility.
"The Trusted Traveller Programme allows Indian passport holders and OCI cardholders to utilise these e-gates, bypass regular emigration and immigration queues, and enjoy a smoother journey. This technology-driven initiative is designed to make the emigration and immigration clearance process faster and simpler," added Videh Kumar Jaipuriar.
The FTI-TTP aims to streamline the immigration process for pre-verified Indian nationals and OCI cardholders, improving travel convenience and security. Eligibility for the programme extends to Indian nationals and OCI cardholders who meet the specified criteria.
Applicants must apply online, submit biometrics (fingerprints and facial image), and pay a non-refundable processing fee of Rs 2,000 for adults, Rs 1,000 for minors, or $100 for OCI cardholders.
Biometric data for the Fast Track Immigration Trusted Traveller Programme can be submitted at designated international airports in India or at the nearest Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO), following a scheduled appointment.
Membership in the programme is valid for up to five years or until the passport's expiry date, whichever occurs first. Applicants must possess a passport with a minimum validity of six months to be eligible for the programme. To avoid rejection of their applications, applicants are required to provide a current residential address. Providing false information or failing to submit biometrics may lead to disqualification.
During the application process, applicants need to upload a passport-sized photograph and scanned copies of relevant documents, including the first and last pages of their passport and proof of address. The processing fees are Rs 2,000 for adult Indian nationals, Rs 1,000 for minors, and $100 for OCI cardholders. These fees are non-refundable.
