Tripura signs landmark agreement to enhance skills of government employees

The Government of Tripura on April 24, 2025, entered into a tripartite agreement with the Skill Development Commission and Karmayogi Bharat for providing systematised skill development training to government employees of the state government, with its importance to personal development and professional efficiency.
The signing ceremony took place today at Pragya Bhavan and included many dignitaries, including Chief Secretary JK Sinha, Secretary of the General Administration (P&T) Department Apurba Roy, Member of Human Resources at the Skill Development Commission Dr. R. Balasubrahmanyam, Joint Secretary S. P. Roy, and Karmayogi Bharat Advisor Shobhana Rana.
The agreement was signed, on behalf of the Tripura Government, by Apurba Roy, while Dr. R. Balasubrahmanyam represented the Skill Development Commission, and Shobhana Rana signed on behalf of Karmayogi Bharat.
Chief Secretary JK Sinha emphasised that the collaboration will help government employees improve both professionally and personally, thereby enhancing their service delivery and strengthening their rapport with the public.
Sinha spoke about four officers of Tripura who received a national-level Prime Minister's Excellence Award on the Civil Services Day held in New Delhi. “The agreement will enable officials and staff across various departments to undergo systematic skill training and become well-versed with modern technologies and administrative methods,” Sinha added, highlighting the government’s broader push towards industrialisation and investment in the state.
Dr. R. Balasubrahmanyam from the Skill Development Commission expressed confidence in the collaboration’s potential. He said the initiative would play an important role in uplifting the operational standards and capabilities of Tripura’s administrative framework.
Other speakers at the event included Apurba Roy, Shobhana Rana, Joint Secretary S.P. Roy, and Assistant Professor Arpita Chowdhury from SIPARD.
