The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams in Hyderabad has declared to establish a platform allowing non-Hindus to change their faith in Hinduism and embrace Sanatan Dharma as a way of life. TTD is responsible for managing the popular Hindu temple of Lord Venkateshwara in Tirumala.
Bhumana Karunakar Reddy, chairman of the TTD trust board, made this announcement during the second day of the Dharmika Sadas at Astana Mandapam in Tirumala. Reddy, declared the decision to establish a platform allowing individuals of any faith to declare their belief in Hinduism, express faith in Hindu gods, and adopt Sanatana Dharma.
Speaking to reporters during the Dharmika Sadas event, Reddy highlighted that this initiative aims to provide an opportunity for people from various backgrounds to embrace the centuries-old way of life that is Sanatana Dharma.
The chairman expressed that the establishment of such a platform would be a pioneering initiative in the country. He conveyed his satisfaction in Tirumala, the revered abode of the Hindu god Lord Mahavishnu, becoming a significant place for individuals to openly declare their faith in Hinduism.
He stated that “pontiffs and religious leaders from various peethams and math involved in the Dharmik Sadas urged TTD to spearhead the promotion of Sanatana Dharma by actively discouraging religious conversions.”
Reddy recalled that TTD had previously organized programs such as Dalit Govindam, Kalyanamastu, and Kaisika Dwadasi, which effectively deterred religious conversions in remote areas. He emphasized, "The idea is to spread the values embedded in the great epics, heritage, culture, and religious texts of Hindu religion among the public, especially the younger generation of today."
The TTD chairman extended an offer to provide any necessary assistance to the management of the newly constructed Shri Ram temple in Ayodhya, particularly in terms of temple administration and crowd management.
Reddy stated that TTD, with decades of experience in temple administration, has adeptly managed the escalating pilgrim footfall without encountering difficulties. He affirmed their readiness to offer suggestions and support to the Ayodhya temple management in any way they find necessary.
