Thales has significantly expanded its partnership with Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL) by deploying the Airport Operation Control Centre (APOC) across all AAHL-managed airports in India. This collaboration builds upon the successful implementation of Thales' Fly to Gate solution at seven airports, which has streamlined travel for millions of passengers since early 2024.
The Fly to Gate system is an integral part of the DigiYatra initiative that uses advanced facial recognition technology to provide a secure means of passenger identification. Pre-enrolled travellers can now enjoy a seamless journey, bypassing the need to present ID documents and boarding passes at multiple checkpoints. This efficient process has reduced passenger processing time by up to 30%, supporting the Indian government's vision of a digital India.
Under the new agreement, Thales will design, integrate, and implement the comprehensive APOC solution for all AAHL-managed airports. This cloud-based platform will centralise various operational applications, enhancing airport management, security, and overall passenger experience. By collecting operational data from integrated airport subsystems and sensors, the APOC will leverage automation, big data analytics, and advanced artificial intelligence to anticipate and mitigate resource shortages, improving reliability and efficiency.
Ashish Saraf, Vice President and Country Director for India at Thales, expressed enthusiasm about the expanded partnership, stating, "We are excited to introduce innovative technology solutions that will revolutionise airport operations and improve passenger experiences in India. Our Fly to Gate biometric solution for DigiYatra, along with the smart APOC, will help AAHL streamline operations while ensuring a secure journey for millions."
This collaboration represents a crucial step towards supporting India’s ambition to become the largest aviation market globally by 2047, showcasing a commitment to innovation and enhanced customer service within the aviation sector.
