Thailand Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin emphasized the significance of Hindu values in fostering global peace. He urged the world, grappling with turmoil, to draw inspiration from the principles of non-violence, truth, tolerance, and harmony inherent in Hinduism for the establishment of peace. In pursuit of solidifying the global identity of Hindus as a progressive and talented society, the Third World Hindu Congress was inaugurated.

The host country's Prime Minister, Thavisin, was scheduled to take part in the inaugural session but, for unspecified reasons, he was unable to attend. Instead, the message from the Thai Prime Minister was conveyed during the meeting, expressing the honour felt by Thailand in hosting the World Hindu Congress, organized based on the principles and values of Hinduism.

The Vedas envision essential principles of synthesis and balance to promote peaceful coexistence. The concept of shanti is derived from these foundational principles. The 'Victory of Dharma' was declared as distinguished saint Mata Amritanandamayi, Swami Purnatmanand of Bharat Sevashram Sangh, Sarsanghchalak Mohanrao Bhagwat of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale, General Secretary of Vishwa Hindu Parishad Milind Parande, and founder-facilitator of the program Swami Vigyananand collectively lit the ceremonial lamp.

The World Hindu Congress brought together over 2,200 delegates from 61 countries, recognized for notable achievements in education, economy, academics, research and development, media, and politics.

Approximately 25 countries are represented by Members of Parliament (MPs) and ministers. In Thailand, there is a significant Indian community of around 1 million people, whose noteworthy contributions impact the country's trade and economic development.

External Affairs Minister EAM Jaishankar has recently remarked on the growing defense and security relationship between India and Thailand since 2014. He highlighted the reciprocal sentiment demonstrated by the Thai government in this regard.

Addressing the Indian diaspora in Thailand, Jaishankar pointed out the divergence in policies, stating that India pursued a look-east policy while Thailand adopted a look-west policy. He underscored the transformative shifts in India-Thailand relations following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's assumption of power in 2014.

While interacting with the Indian community, Jaishankar said, “We engage with the countries of the ASEAN. So, for us, this is not just a relationship. It is not even a relationship that began, as I said, in 1947, in the modern form. It is, of course, a relationship that goes back in history, but it is a relationship that is associated with reform and change in India. So, this period that we are talking about, especially the last 25 years, this is a time when this relationship has grown very much.”
