In a shocking revelation, Tamil Nadu caretaking Chief Minister, O. Paneerselvam, claimed he was forced to resign from the Chief Minister post and will recall his resignation if people expect him to do so.

OPS went to the final resting place of former CM Jayalalithaa and meditated for nearly 40 minutes in silence under whole glare of the media. When he completed his meditation, he spoke with the media persons assembled there (40 minutes time was more than sufficient for a large gathering of media to assemble) .

OPS claimed that when Jayalalithaa was ill, she asked him to make Madhusoodhanan as party chief and OPS as CM. He did not want to think about it when she was still alive. Later after her demise, OPS accepted the post of CM after Sasikala, close confidant of Jayalalithaa, requested him to do so. Any other person taking the CM post at that time would not have gone down well with the public sentiment prevailing then per Sasikala.

After OPS took over as CM, he claimed to have done a  good work on the Vadra Cyclone relief work, handled the Jallikattu issue with full support of the Central Government, met the CM of Andra Pradesh Chandrababu Naidu and got 6tmc of water to tide over Chennai water problem due to very poor monsoon rains.

As per OPS, while he was busy with the recent Oil slick issue, Sasikala side took the signatures of ADMK MLA’s behind his back and he was called to Poes garden (Jayalalithaa’s home where Sasikala is living currently). When he went there he was forced to resign from the CM post and was not even permitted to visit Jayalalithaa’s resting place before taking his decision.

The impression one gets from the press conference is that Sasikala is power hungry and wants to become CM desperately, even when Tamil Nadu public is against her. OPS projected that he is a capable administrator (Vadra relief, brought water from AP to tide over water scarcity of Chennai, handled Jallikattu issue and brought out the law in short time, cleared the Oil slick promptly) and also has the support of Central Government.

As parting shot, OPS claimed he will fight even if he is the last man standing.

Many MLA’s have started going to Poes Garden to consult with Sasikala team immediately after OPS press conference.
