The City of Hyderabad witnessed an energetic and soulful evening on the 29th of November as music lovers gathered for Sonu Nigam’s much-awaited Satrangi Re concert.
Sonu Nigam is not just a singer; he is a legendary voice of the Indian music industry, performing for over 4 decades. His “Satrangi Re” India tour celebrates the seven colours of love, with each concert representing a unique emotion inspired by these seven shades.
After kicking off the tour in Mumbai, it was finally Hyderabad’s turn to experience the magic of his voice and stage presence. He opened the show with some of his most soulful tracks including “Pardesiya” (Param Sundari), “Soniyo” (Raaz), “Deewana Tera” (his own album Deewana), “Hans Mat Pagli” (Toilet: Ek Prem Katha) and “Main Agar Kahoon” (Om Shanti Om) instantly drawing the audience into a world of melody.
The mood soon shifted from soothing to electrifying as he moved into high-energy numbers like “Phir Milenge Chalte Chalte” (Rab Ne Bana di Jodi), “You Are My Soniya” (Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham), “All is Well” (3 Idiots) and the iconic “Satrangi Re” (Dil Se….) itself. Later, responding to the audience requests, he surprised fans by singing “Bijuria” (Sunny Sanskari ki Tulsi Kumari), which further amplified the excitement in the arena.
Although originally scheduled for 2.5 hours, Sonu Nigam started the show early and performed for a full three hours, giving fans a richer and more immersive musical experience. According to reports, over 10,000 people attended the concert, and the collective energy, cheers and emotional connection added to the charm of the night.
Calling Hyderabad’s crown one that “listens with its heart”, Sonu delivered an impressive set of 30 songs non-stop, reflecting his passion and commitment to live performance. The concept of “seven colours and seven emotions” made the concert feel thoughtfully curated, elevating it beyond a typical live show.
The setlist struck a perfect balance between nostalgic favourites and newer or lesser-heard tracks, creating an experience that appealed to both long-time admirers and younger listeners.
For Hyderabad, hosting this extended edition of Satrangi Re reflects the city’s growing prominence as a destination for large-scale musical events. Until a few years ago, such concerts were rare, with most big performances limited to metropolitan cities or international venues. But, in recent years, artists like Arijit Singh, Bryan Adams and Sonu Nigam have brought grand concerts to Hyderabad – proof that the city has an appreciative audience eagerly waiting for such experiences.
The Sonu Nigam concert in Hyderabad last night was a magical blend of emotion, energy and nostalgia. Performing as part of his Satrangi Re tour, Sonu thrilled the packed crowd with a mix of soulful classics and high-energy hits, keeping the audience hooked for nearly three hours. His effortless connection with fans, powerful vocals and heartfelt stage presence turned the evening into a memorable celebration of music. With vibrant lights, stunning visuals and a charged atmosphere, the concert truly felt like a musical festival that Hyderabad will remember for a long time.
