On November 18, six Bangladeshi nationals were detained near Holalkere Road in Chitradurga city for illegal infiltration and settlement in India. The individuals have been identified as Shek Saifur Rohaman, Muhammed Suman Husen Ali, Majharul, Azizul Shaik, Muhammed Sakib Sikdar, and Sanowar Hossain.
According to a police release, the arrests took place during a patrol near Aravind Garments and White Wash Garments in the Dhavalagiri Layout area. Upon questioning and verifying their documents, it was revealed that they had entered India illegally from Bangladesh several years ago with the intent of settling here.
The statement noted, "Initially entering through West Bengal, they procured fake Aadhaar cards and other documents in Kolkata and have been working across various states to sustain their livelihood. They recently arrived in Chitradurga city seeking employment."
Authorities confiscated fake Aadhaar cards, voter ID cards, labour cards, bank passbooks, PAN cards, and even a passport found in their possession. Legal action has been initiated against them.
The police release added, "The fake documents have been seized for further investigation, and necessary legal proceedings will follow against the apprehended individuals."
This incident comes days after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested multiple individuals in a case related to illegal infiltration and human trafficking. On November 13, the ED detained Pinki Basu Mukherjee for facilitating such activities.
Earlier, on November 12, the ED arrested two Bangladeshi nationals, Rony Mondal and Sameer Chowdhary, along with two Indian nationals, Pintu Haldar and Mukherjee, from Kolkata.
In a post on X, the ED stated, "ED, Ranchi has arrested two Bangladeshi nationals namely Rony Mondal and Sameer Chowdhary and two Indian nationals Pintu Haldar on November 12 and Pinki Basu Mukherjee on November 13 in a Bangladeshi infiltration case for facilitating illegal infiltration and human trafficking in India."
The authorities continue to take stringent measures to address illegal infiltration and its related activities.
