A serious case has come to light from a BPO unit of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in Nashik, where multiple employees are facing grave allegations including molestation, rape on the pretext of marriage, religious coercion, and workplace harassment. According to police records, the incidents reportedly took place over a period of two to three years, starting from 2022. The complainants are young women aged between 18 and 25.

The investigation is based on nine FIRs filed against six male employees and two female employees. So far, at least seven accused have been arrested, while investigations are still ongoing to identify further involvement. Those arrested include Asif Ansari, Danish, Shafi Shaikh, Shahrukh Qureshi, Raza Memon, and Tausif Attar. Ashwin Chainani, who served as the Operations Manager of the POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) Committee, has also been arrested. Meanwhile, HR manager Nida Khan is currently absconding.

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to probe the matter. The team has identified at least 12 women who were allegedly targeted. The case first came into focus after a complaint led to a covert inquiry. Investigators are now examining digital evidence and possible external links connected to the accused.

According to the FIRs, between July 2022 and February 2026, Danish Shaikh, Tausif Attar, and Nida Khan allegedly made offensive remarks about Hindu deities, hurting the complainant’s religious sentiments. Tausif Attar is also accused of promising marriage to the complainant and engaging in sexual relations with her multiple times under that pretext. Danish Shaikh allegedly grabbed the complainant in the office premises and made advances for physical intimacy, which caused her embarrassment.

In another case covering the period from May 2023 to March 2026, Raza Memon and Shahrukh Qureshi are accused of repeatedly staring at a female employee, touching her inappropriately, and making humiliating remarks about her personal and marital life. Despite verbal complaints made by the victim to senior officials, no action was taken. This inaction has been treated as abetment in the FIR.

Between 2022 and early 2026, Shafi Shaikh allegedly stared inappropriately at a complainant during meetings, making her uncomfortable. Tausif Attar is accused in the same complaint of making insulting comments about her personal life, including remarks about her not having children. He also allegedly tried to initiate physical intimacy without consent.

Another FIR states that between May and December 2025, Tausif Attar asked inappropriate questions about a complainant’s private life. He allegedly stared at her body and made obscene gestures, causing humiliation. During office hours, he is also accused of making offensive remarks about Hindu deities in front of her and other colleagues.

One of the most serious allegations spans from 2022 to March 2026. In this case, Tausif Attar, Danish, Shahrukh Shaikh, and Raza Memon are accused of using abusive language against Hindu deities and forcing a complainant to perform Namaz. The FIR also claims that there was an attempt to convert her religion by compelling her to consume beef. Obscene and derogatory remarks were also allegedly made about women from the Hindu community.

Between September 2024 and February 2026, Asif Ansari and Shafi Sheikh are accused of making obscene comments about a complainant’s body and touching her inappropriately. Tausif Attar is again named for making offensive religious remarks in the same case.

In another complaint from June 2025 to March 2026, multiple accused including Asif Ansari, Shahrukh Qureshi, Raza Memon, Tausif Attar, and Shafi Sheikh allegedly stalked a female colleague. They are accused of passing obscene remarks, touching her inappropriately, and making lewd gestures. The FIR also mentions abusive comments about Hindu deities during these incidents.

Between January 2025 and the present, Raza Memon and Shafi Shaikh are accused of repeatedly engaging a complainant in unwanted conversations about her private life. Shafi allegedly proposed to her despite her refusal, while Raza made obscene comments about her body. Both are accused of brushing against her physically, causing discomfort.

In the most recent FIR, covering January to April 2026, Raza Memon and Shahrukh Qureshi are accused of making obscene comments, using lewd gestures, and continuously monitoring a complainant. They allegedly asked intrusive questions about her personal life and made remarks about her appearance.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are continuing to gather evidence. The case has raised serious concerns about workplace safety, internal complaint mechanisms, and accountability within corporate environments.
