Sikhs For Justice (SFJ) has made a new claim, alleging that the Russian embassy in Canada helped Indian officials in the assassination of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar by providing "signal intelligence." According to CNN-News18, SFJ has also offered $25,000 to track Russian Ambassador Vladimir Sevastyanovich Stepanov in Canada and Indian Ambassador Vinay Kwatra in the United States.
"Russian President Vladimir Putin's support for PM Narendra Modi's India against pro-Khalistan Sikhs is death knell for Russia," according to SFJ founder Gurpatwant Singh Pannun. He went on to say that Kwatra is operating a spy and monitoring network in the US and Canada in tandem with Stepanov. Russia allegedly helped carry out Nijjar's murder by giving "signals intelligence" to Pavan Kumar Rai, the leader of RAW in Canada, who was later expelled by the Justin Trudeau administration, according to the secessionist group.
In an appeal against the "Russia-India terror nexus," SFJ offered a $25,000 reward for information about Kwatra and Stepanov's next public appearances. “Pro-Khalistan Sikhs are going to question Indian and Russian ambassadors on their role in violent attacks on pro-Khalistan Sikhs on Canadian and American soil," Pannun said.
The SFJ claimed that in May 2023, the Russian embassy in Ottawa hacked Nijjar’s Telegram account to help India track his movements, which led to his assassination on June 18 at Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara in Surrey. They also said that the Russian agency hacked Pannun’s Telegram account, sharing his location and movements with RAW officials as part of a planned but failed murder plot.
In December, the US security firm iVerify reported that Pannun's smartphone had been targeted by advanced spyware that was tracking his location and daily movements.
Top intelligence sources claimed that due to the ongoing diplomatic issue, Pannun was speaking the language of the US and Canada. “He is a global terrorist and soon, more will be shared with all the countries protecting him. He is trying to provoke youth in India born after 1984 to work against India and settle abroad so that he gets fees as an attorney," they said.
