According to reports by police, a significant development took place on June 23rd in the Machhal sector of Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district. Four terrorists, attempting to infiltrate Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, were successfully eliminated. The Indian Army and police collaborated in a joint operation to neutralize the terrorists and ensure the security of the region.

As per the tweet from Kashmir Zone Police, a joint operation conducted by the Indian Army and Police successfully eliminated four terrorists in the Kala Jungle area of the Machhal sector in Kupwara. The terrorists were attempting to infiltrate from Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (POJK).

The Indian Army's Chinar Corps also tweeted about the operation, stating that alert troops along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Macchal Sector foiled an infiltration bid. They further mentioned that four terrorists were eliminated, and war-like stores were recovered during the operation, which is still ongoing.

This encounter follows a recent incident in which security forces foiled a major infiltration bid at Jumgund Keran, near the LoC in the Kupwara district. Once again, the forces successfully conducted a joint operation to prevent the infiltration.

Maj Gen Girish Kalia, the General Officer Commanding the Vajra Division, addressed the media in a post-operation press conference. He highlighted that while there is a ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan, there have been numerous intelligence inputs indicating a potential increase in infiltration attempts across the LoC.

The successful operation in Kupwara district highlights the unwavering determination and vigilance of the security forces in safeguarding the integrity and peace of the region.
