'Sea Guardian-2023' joint military exercises between China and Pakistan conclude

The closing ceremony of the bilateral exercise Sea Guardian – 2023, conducted between the Pakistan Navy and the People's Liberation Army (Navy) of China, took place at the Pakistan Navy Dockyard in Karachi.
During the exercise, held in Karachi and the North Arabian Sea, six Chinese Navy units, comprising a Destroyer, Frigates, Submarine, Oil tanker, and Rescue ship, along with a detachment of marines, participated. The maneuvers covered various operational aspects, including Anti-Surface, Anti-Air, Mine Warfare, and Special Operations in a simulated multi-threat environment, aimed at providing optimal training value.
The primary objective of the exercise was to strengthen maritime cooperation and defense relations through the mutual exchange of maritime experiences and interoperability between the two navies. The exercise contributed to enhancing professional skills and served as a platform for both navies to learn from each other's experiences.
In conjunction with the visit of Chinese PLA (Navy) ships, Rear Admiral Liang Yang, Commander Qingdao Naval Base, visited Pakistan. In addition to attending the closing ceremony, Rear Admiral Liang Yang held discussions with high-ranking officials, including Commander Coast, Commander Pakistan Fleet, and other senior Pakistan Navy officials. The discussions encompassed matters of bilateral naval collaboration and regional maritime security.
The regular conduct of the Sea Guardian-23 exercises demonstrated the mutual commitment to further enhancing bilateral cooperation between the Pakistan Navy and the People's Liberation Army (Navy) of China. The closing ceremony witnessed the presence of a large number of officials from both participating navies.
Overall, Exercise Sea Guardian-23 proved to be mutually rewarding, providing an opportunity for both navies to refine their professional skills and learn from shared experiences. The exercise underscored the ongoing commitment to strengthening collaboration and fostering a cooperative maritime security environment in the region.
