Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed that the Indian economy is currently experiencing a rapid growth trajectory, resulting in significant employment opportunities for the nation's youth. During an address at a Rozgar Mela he distributed more than 51,000 appointment letters to candidates and highlighted that sectors such as automobile, pharmaceuticals, tourism, and food processing are projected to expand swiftly, leading to enhanced employment prospects for the youth.
Newly appointed personnel in central paramilitary forces, the Narcotics Control Bureau, and the newly joined Delhi Police also attended PM Modi’s virtual address from 45 different locations across the country. The prime minister emphasized India's emergence as one of the world's fastest-growing economies and projected that the country is poised to become one of the top three global economies within this decade, ultimately benefiting the common citizens.
In his address, Modi underlined the critical role of sectoral growth in propelling overall economic development. He cited various examples, asserting that when each sector flourishes, it collectively drives the economy forward. Notably, he mentioned the tourism sector, which is anticipated to contribute Rs 20 lakh crore to the economy by 2030 and has the potential to generate 13-14 crore new jobs.
Additionally, Modi discussed the pharmaceutical industry's trajectory, indicating that its current valuation of Rs four lakh crore is projected to expand to Rs 10 lakh crore by 2030. This implies a significant demand for skilled youth in the sector, resulting in ample employment opportunities.
Addressing the automobile and auto component sector, the prime minister affirmed its growth prospects, highlighting the pivotal role of the youth workforce in its advancement. Moreover, he underscored the remarkable potential of the food processing industry, projecting its value to rise from approximately Rs 26 lakh crore to Rs 35 lakh crore within the next three and a half years.
"With expansion comes increased employment opportunities," he added.
Referring to Uttar Pradesh, he pointed out that effective governance in the state has resulted in the establishment of a robust rule of law, consequently attracting substantial investments.
"In an atmosphere of security, the establishment of the rule of the law speeds up development, instills confidence in the people and brings in investments," he said.
However, the states with rising crime rates witnessed fewer investments and shrinking employment opportunities, Modi said.
"A new era of transformation can be witnessed owing to the efforts of the government in the last nine years," the prime minister said.
He highlighted that India's achievement of recording remarkable exports last year serves as an indicator of the growing demand for goods manufactured in India across the global market.
Modi observed that there has been an augmentation in production, a rise in employment opportunities, and an increase in family income.
Furthermore, he pointed out that India has now become the world's second-largest hub for mobile manufacturing, and the nation is directing its attention toward the production of other electronic devices.
"India will replicate the success of the mobile manufacturing sector in the IT and hardware manufacturing sector. The day is not far when ‘Made in India’ laptops and personal computers will make us proud," the prime minister said.
He emphasized that the government is giving priority to the acquisition of domestically produced laptops and computers, leading to a surge in gadget production.
The newly appointed individuals, who received their appointment letters on Monday, are set to take up diverse roles, including constables (general duty), sub-inspectors (general duty), and positions within non-general duty cadres across different organizations under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The prime minister dubbed the fresh recruits as 'Amrit Rakshak,' individuals who will not only dedicate themselves to serving the nation but also safeguarding it.
