Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that a strong “Poribartan” wave is rising in West Bengal and claimed that people in the state are ready for a political shift. Addressing a large gathering in Kolkata, the Prime Minister lashed out at the ruling All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) and warned that leaders involved in corruption and wrongdoing would face strict action according to the law.
During his speech, Modi said that the mood of the people in Bengal clearly shows that they want change. According to him, the countdown for “Poribartan” has already begun and the end of the current TMC government is approaching. He said that the people of the state are frustrated with what he described as misgovernance and corruption under the present administration. Modi claimed that citizens are now ready to support a new direction that focuses on development, transparency, and better governance.
The Prime Minister strongly attacked the TMC government and accused it of creating an environment where corruption and violence have become common. He alleged that several leaders in the ruling party have been involved in illegal activities and warned that once they lose power, strict legal action will follow. Modi said that the law will take its course and that those responsible for wrongdoing will not be spared.
While addressing the rally, he also spoke about issues related to law and order and women’s safety in the state. Referring to recent controversies and incidents, Modi criticised the state government and accused it of protecting the accused instead of standing with the victims. He said that such incidents have raised serious concerns among the people of Bengal and added that the state deserves a system where justice and safety are ensured for everyone.
The Prime Minister also targeted the TMC government on the issue of governance and development. He claimed that the state has great potential in areas such as industry, trade, and employment, but alleged that corruption and political interference have slowed down progress. According to him, Bengal has the resources and talent to become one of the most developed states in the country, but this potential has not been fully utilised.
Modi said that the Bharatiya Janata Party wants to bring development and new opportunities to the state. He told the crowd that the goal is to build a stronger and more prosperous Bengal where young people can find jobs and industries can grow. He also said that better infrastructure and investment are important for the state’s future and that the central government is committed to supporting Bengal’s growth.
During his address, Modi repeatedly emphasised the idea of “Poribartan,” saying that the desire for change can be seen across the state. He said that people from different backgrounds are now united in their wish to see Bengal move forward with a new leadership and a new vision. According to him, the growing support for change reflects the people’s disappointment with the current government.
The Prime Minister also encouraged party workers and supporters to continue working at the grassroots level and connect with people across the state. He said that the coming elections will play an important role in deciding the future direction of Bengal. Modi urged citizens to think about development, governance, and opportunities for the younger generation while making their decision.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for several major development projects worth around ₹18,680 crore in Kolkata today. The projects cover important sectors such as roads, ports, and railways, and are expected to significantly improve infrastructure in West Bengal. During the event, the Prime Minister said that these initiatives will strengthen development not only in the state but also across eastern India, helping to improve connectivity and create more economic opportunities.
