PM Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated Sardar Dham Bhavan-3 in Vadodara and announced several initiatives connected to the Sardar Dham educational and social development programme. The event marked another major expansion of the Sardar Dham network, which has been developed to provide academic and residential support to students, especially those preparing for competitive examinations.
The newly inaugurated Sardar Dham Bhavan-3 has been built at a cost of Rs 150 crore. The facility has been added as part of the larger Sardar Dham infrastructure in Gujarat. The project aims to strengthen educational opportunities by offering accommodation and study support to students from different parts of the state.
The inauguration marked the operational expansion of the Sardar Dham complex. The initiative has been developed with a focus on helping students who are preparing for examinations such as UPSC, GPSC and other professional entrance tests. The project has especially focused on students who require structured learning spaces and residential support during long-term preparation.
During the programme, the Prime Minister also virtually laid the foundation stone for the Dharamshi Harji Mordiya Girls Chhatralaya Phase-2. The project has been planned to expand hostel facilities for female students. It is expected to improve residential capacity and make educational access easier for girls pursuing higher studies and competitive examinations.
The programme also witnessed the formal launch of the ‘Sardar Dham Education Support Yojana’, a Rs 500 crore initiative aimed at strengthening educational assistance for students. The scheme is expected to provide financial support, training opportunities and mentoring facilities for students from different backgrounds.
According to details shared during the programme, the initiative has been designed to improve access to organised educational resources. The scheme will mainly support students from modest socio-economic backgrounds who are preparing for professional courses and public service examinations. The focus will remain on helping students receive better guidance and academic support during their preparation process.
The Sardar Dham initiative has been developed through community-led efforts inspired by the legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Over the years, the initiative has concentrated on building integrated educational and residential facilities for students across Gujarat.
The Vadodara complex forms part of a larger Sardar Dham network that includes hostel accommodation, digital learning infrastructure, libraries, counselling facilities and coaching support systems. These facilities have been created to provide students with an environment that supports focused preparation for competitive examinations and higher education goals.
Officials associated with the project had earlier stated that Sardar Dham Bhavan-3 has been developed as a large-scale residential and academic facility. The complex has the capacity to accommodate thousands of students. The infrastructure has been designed to function as both a training centre and a living space for students preparing for various examinations.
The newly inaugurated facility is expected to support long-term preparation for examinations, including UPSC, GPSC and other professional entry tests. The aim is to create a structured educational environment where students can access accommodation, study resources and guidance under one system.
The event in Vadodara highlighted the continued expansion of the Sardar Dham framework. The initiative combines educational infrastructure development with community-based support systems focused on student advancement. Through new facilities and educational schemes, the programme aims to strengthen opportunities for students seeking higher education and professional careers.
The inauguration of Bhavan-3 and the launch of the Rs 500 crore education support scheme reflect continued efforts to expand academic infrastructure in Gujarat. The projects are expected to benefit students by improving access to residential facilities, educational resources and competitive examination support.
