Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Swarved Mahamandir in Umaraha, Varanasi, marking its official opening as the world's largest meditation centre. During his address to the audience, PM Modi emphasized India's declaration of freedom from a slave mentality and expressed pride in the nation's rich heritage.
PM stated, "In the era of oppression, those who sought to weaken India targeted our symbols. Following Independence, the reconstruction of these cultural symbols was imperative."
Modi remarked that post-independence, "there was opposition to the rebuilding of the Somnath temple, and this mindset prevailed for decades." He noted that due to this, the country developed an inferiority complex, neglecting its rich heritage. After seven decades of Independence, a transformative shift has occurred. The nation, proclaiming liberation from a mindset of subjugation, and embracing pride in its heritage, made this declaration from the Red Fort."
"The initiative that commenced with Somnath has developed into a comprehensive movement. Presently, the magnificence of Vishwanath resounds with narratives of India's glory," Modi stated.
He asserted that India, over an extended period, has exemplified economic prosperity and physical development. The government, society, and saints are actively contributing to the revitalization of Kashi. The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, attended the inauguration alongside PM Modi. Both leaders toured the centre, designed to accommodate approximately 20,000 individuals for meditation.
The verses of the Swarveda have been intricately carved onto the walls of the Mahamandir, a seven-floor superstructure. During his two-day visit to his Lok Sabha constituency Varanasi, the Indian Prime Minister, on the initial day, inaugurated various projects. This includes the Kanyakumari-Varanasi Tamil Sangamam train, as well as the unveiling of multi-language and braille translations of Thirukkural, Manimekalai, and other classic Tamil literature.
PM Modi took part in the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra and is scheduled to inaugurate additional projects in Varanasi, including the new Vande Bharat train to New Delhi. During Kashi Tamil Sangamam, PM Modi heralded the integration of new technology, specifically Artificial Intelligence (AI), stating, "This is a new beginning, and hopefully, it makes it easier for me to reach you."
The Indian prime minister's address was seamlessly translated for Tamil-speaking members of the audience through 'Bhashini.' This AI-powered language translation system allows individuals to communicate in their native language while conversing with speakers of different Indian languages.
In a groundbreaking move, a real-time AI-based tool was employed to translate PM Modi's speech at Kashi Tamil Sangamam in Varanasi. During his address, PM Modi warmly welcomed the participants, referring to them as his family.
