PM Modi inaugurates projects worth Rs 5,950 crores in Mehsana

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for several development projects valued at approximately Rs 5,800 crores across various sectors in Gujarat's Mehsana.
Among the projects inaugurated were the New Bhandu-New Sanand (N) section of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC), the doubling of the Viramgam - Samakhiali rail line, and the Katosan Road-Bechraji-Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL Siding) Rail Project.
The initiative also encompassed projects aimed at rejuvenating several village lakes in Vijapur taluka and Mansa taluka of Mehsana and Gandhinagar district, the Valasana barrage on the Sabarmati river in Mehsana District, two schemes for drinking water supply in Palanpur, Banaskantha, and the Dharoi dam-based Palanpur lifeline project Head work (HW) alongside an 80 MLD capacity water treatment plant.
In addition to inaugurating these projects, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for other developmental initiatives. These included projects in Kheralu, irrigation facilities for Santrampur taluka in Mahisagar District, the widening and strengthening of Naroda-Dehgam Harsol-Dhansura Road in Sabarkantha, the Kalol Nagarpalika Sewerage and Septage Management project in Gandhinagar District, and sewage treatment plant projects in Siddhpur (Patan), Palanpur (Banaskantha), Bayad (Aravalli), and Vadnagar (Mehsana).
While addressing PM Modi paid tribute to Govind Guruji for his significant contributions to India's struggle for freedom and his unwavering dedication to both the country's independence and the service of the Tribal community.
He stated, "Govind Guruji's life was dedicated to India's quest for independence and his commitment to serving the Tribal community. His remarkable service and strong sense of nationalism inspired a tradition of sacrifices, making him an enduring symbol of selfless dedication."
Furthermore, the Prime Minister highlighted that the government had taken steps to promote and honour Guruji's legacy. In particular, he mentioned the development of Mangarh Dham on a national scale as a testament to the profound respect and recognition given to Govind Guruji's invaluable contributions.
Before attending the public event, the Prime Minister shared that he had the opportunity to visit the Ambaji Temple. "Before coming here, I had the chance to visit the Ambaji Temple... The way the 'Gabbar (a small hillock to the west of Ambaji village believed to be the original seat of the goddess) is being developed, I spoke about it in the 'Mann ki Baat' yesterday...," PM Modi said.
Additionally, the Prime Minister discussed the advantages of the developmental projects he inaugurated in Manesar.
“The developmental projects worth Rs. 6000 crore have been announced. These projects will strengthen the farmers. These will create connectivity with the whole country. All districts around Mehsana would be benefitted because of these projects," PM Modi said.
Speaking about potato cultivation in north Gujarat, Modi said, "Potatoes of North Cujarat are famous all over the world. Export-quality potatoes are produced in North Gujarat... The products from potatoes are exported around the world."
"Deesa is being developed as a hub of organic farming for potatoes. Potato processing plants are established in Banaskantha. Our farmers producing potatoes have done the work of producing gold from the sandy soil," he added.
