Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated the India AI Impact Expo 2026 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, officially opening the India AI Impact Summit 2026. The summit is a five-day event that will continue until February 20, and it brings together major global technology companies, policymakers, startups, and research institutions to present the latest developments in artificial intelligence.
According to the official advisory, the summit will be open to the general public from February 17. This public opening will begin after the Prime Minister’s inauguration ceremony, which was held on Monday evening. The organisers said the summit is meant to serve as a major platform where people can learn about AI innovations and how artificial intelligence is shaping industries across the world.
The event is designed to create a space for interaction between government bodies, industry leaders, and technology experts. It is also expected to help in building partnerships and encouraging discussions about the future role of AI in development, business, and society.
A major highlight of the India AI Impact Expo is the participation of several countries. The expo includes country pavilions from 13 nations, such as Australia, Japan, Russia, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Italy, highlighting international cooperation and the growing interest in AI collaboration across borders.
Organisers said the presence of these global pavilions reflects how different countries are increasingly working together in AI research, development, and deployment. It also shows India’s growing ambition to become an important part of the global AI ecosystem. With international participation, the expo aims to present a broad view of how AI is being used worldwide and how countries are investing in new technologies.
The India AI Impact Summit 2026 includes 300 pavilions and several live demonstrations that are arranged across three main themes called ‘chakras’: People, Planet, and Progress. These themes focus on how AI can help improve human life, support environmental sustainability, and drive future innovation and growth.
The entire setup is spread across 10 arenas and covers an area of more than 7,000 square metres. With such a large scale, the summit is expected to attract heavy footfall, including visitors from India and abroad. International delegates, experts, and organisations are also expected to attend the event in large numbers.
The summit brings together leading technology firms, upcoming startups, state governments, and research bodies. Organisers said the main goal is to create new business opportunities and provide a detailed look at the global AI landscape. The summit is also intended to encourage innovation by giving companies and institutions a chance to present their work, connect with potential partners, and explore future collaborations.
Overall, the India AI Impact Expo and Summit 2026 is being seen as a major event that highlights India’s focus on artificial intelligence and its efforts to strengthen its position in the global AI sector.
