The visit coincides with PM Modi's two-day trip to inaugurate the 10th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024 at Gujarat’s Mahatma Mandir, under the theme ‘Gateway to the Future’ celebrating "20 Years of Vibrant Gujarat as the Summit of Success."

During the meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended congratulations to President Jose Ramos-Horta of Timor-Leste for the country's imminent membership in ASEAN, as stated by Ministry of External Affairs official spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal. PM Modi further extended an invitation for Timor-Leste to join the International Solar Alliance and the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure.

The meeting, attended by External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, and Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra, highlighted the depth of bilateral cooperation across diverse sectors.
