PM Modi holds bilateral talks with Presidents of Timor-Leste and Mozambique during Vibrant Gujarat Summit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in a significant meeting with President Filipe Nyusi of Mozambique, who arrived in Gujarat to participate in the Vibrant Gujarat Summit. In a post on X, PM Modi shared the memorable occasion, stating, "Glad to have met President Filipe Nyusi of Mozambique in Gujarat. The meeting was made special by the fact that he has an old association with the state, having studied a course at @IIMAhmedabad. Our talks focused on defence, trade, energy, cultural linkages, and more."
The discussions between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Mozambique President Filipe Nyusi covered various subjects, emphasizing the extensive bilateral relationship. Key areas included defense collaboration, trade partnerships, energy cooperation, and cultural linkages.
President Nyusi arrived in Gujarat, received by Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad, as shared in a post on X by MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal. The visit coincides with PM Modi's two-day trip to inaugurate the 10th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024 at Gujarat’s Mahatma Mandir, under the theme ‘Gateway to the Future’ celebrating "20 Years of Vibrant Gujarat as the Summit of Success."
Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in a "fruitful meeting" with President Jose Ramos-Horta of Timor-Leste in Gandhinagar on Tuesday, underscoring the strengthening bond between "Delhi and Dili." The Office of the Prime Minister of India shared insights on X, stating, "Deepening the bond between Delhi and Dili! PM @narendramodi and President @JoseRamosHorta1 of Timor-Leste had a fruitful meeting in Gandhinagar. Bilateral cooperation in a range of areas, including development partnerships in energy, IT, FinTech, health, and capacity building, was discussed."

Both leaders expressed a shared interest in promoting growth and progress in key areas, including energy, IT, FinTech, health, and capacity building, showcasing a commitment to mutual advancements in these domains.
PM Modi highlighted the special nature of his meeting with Jose Ramos-Horta at Mahatma Mandir, emphasizing Mahatma Gandhi's profound influence on Horta's life and work.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended congratulations to President Jose Ramos-Horta of Timor-Leste for the country's imminent membership in ASEAN, as stated by Ministry of External Affairs official spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal. PM Modi further extended an invitation for Timor-Leste to join the International Solar Alliance and the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure.
The meeting, attended by External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, and Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra, highlighted the depth of bilateral cooperation across diverse sectors.
