PM Modi visited Tamil Nadu on Tuesday and addressed a public rally at Tiruppur. He said, “Tamil Nadu is at the cusp of a historic political change owing to the BJP’s ‘En Mann, En Makkal’ padayatra.”
He added "Tamil Nadu has always been in BJP's hearts. Tamil Nadu people are aware of this."
Launching the 2024 Lok Sabha poll campaign at Madappur near Palladam, the PM said “The electorate in Tamil Nadu will play a pivotal role in installing BJP government at the Centre for the third term.”
Acknowledging the State BJP president K. Annamalai for the impact, he asserted that the public's response to the padayatra indicated their support for the party's 'nation first' ideology.
“The BJP’s growth in Tamil Nadu has caused the ‘jittery’ DMK regime to divert the attention of the people owing to the fear of losing power,” he charged at the public meeting.
Targeting DMK, PM Modi said, "BJP government has given more money to Tamil Nadu than before. Please remember DMK and Congress are allies for a long time. From 2004 to 2014, DMK people were top ministers in Congress-led UPA government but they never prioritised the development of Tamil Nadu people."
The Prime Minister stated that the enduring presence of late Chief Ministers MGR and Jayalalithaa in the people's hearts was attributed to the welfare schemes for the poor that they had instituted.
“Having conceded defeat in the North, the INDIA bloc was now keen on indulging in loot in Tamil Nadu. The opposition parties were least bothered about issues facing the poor, the fishermen, industry, and education, said PM Modi. “They (the INDIA bloc constituents) had ganged up primarily due to hatred towards me,” he charged.
The people in Tamil Nadu had made up their minds and would teach a lesson in the 2024 poll, he said.
Prime Minister also launched the TVS Open mobility platform at Madurai today. He also inaugurated the Centre of Excellence on employment and livelihood.
In his special address at the automotive mobility conference attended by five thousand MSMEs, the Prime Minister emphasized the critical role of manufacturing and innovation in driving economic growth. He highlighted the importance of the manufacturing sector adopting a "Zero Defect, Zero Effect" policy, emphasizing the need for global-standard products that do not harm the environment.
Addressing the audience, the Prime Minister underscored the creation of a separate ministry for skill development, aimed at equipping the nation's youth with the necessary skills for better prospects. He pointed out that the MSMEs played a significant role in the production of two crore two-wheelers, ten lakh commercial vehicles, and numerous other vehicles in the country, contributing significantly to the growth of the industrial sector.
Highlighting the challenges posed by the COVID crisis, the Prime Minister mentioned various credit guarantee schemes implemented by the government to protect the MSME sector. He emphasized the importance of supporting performance-linked manufacturing MSMEs to enhance their growth.
Discussing the MSME sector's relevance in key areas, the Prime Minister noted its impact on electric vehicles, rooftop solar policies, the establishment of one crore E-vehicle charging stations, and advancements in the transportation field. He mentioned the government's commitment to digitalization, electrification, and formalization to benefit the infrastructure industry.
The Prime Minister also acknowledged the significance of multi-modal connectivity and automobile support mechanisms as foundational support for the growth of automotive MSMEs. He highlighted the market opportunities in scrapping old vehicles and recycling their parts.
Concluding his address, the Prime Minister emphasized the substantial role MSMEs have in realizing the vision of making India a developed nation, or "Vikshit Bharat," by the year 2047.
