In a recent speech, Pakistan’s army chief, General Asim Munir, reiterated the two-nation theory, emphasising that India and Pakistan are distinct nations, with Pakistanis differing from Hindus in culture, ambitions, ideologies, and more. Speaking at the Overseas Pakistanis Convention in Islamabad on Wednesday, Munir urged every Pakistani to pass on how the nation was created to their children, stressing that the "story of Pakistan must never be forgotten."
At the event, “You have to narrate Pakistan’s story to your children so that they don’t forget it when our forefathers thought we were different from Hindus in every possible aspect of life," Munir stated. “Our religion is different, our customs are different, our traditions are different, our thoughts are different, our ambitions are different, that’s where the foundation of the two-nation theory was laid. We are two nations, we are not one nation," Munir further said. “…Because of that, our forefathers mounted that incessant struggle to create this country. Our forefathers have sacrificed immensely, and we have sacrificed a lot for the creation of this country, and we know how to defend it," he continued.
“My dear brothers and sisters and sons and daughters, please don’t forget the story of Pakistan, and don’t forget to narrate this story of Pakistan to your next generation, so that their bond with Pakistan never weakens, whether it is the third generation, or the fourth generation, or the fifth generation, they know what Pakistan is for them," Pakistan army chief General Asim Munir expressed.
At the event, Munir pledged to take decisive action against terrorists in Balochistan and referred to it as the "destiny of Pakistan," adding that "even ten generations of terrorists cannot harm Balochistan and Pakistan." He highlighted the army’s firm commitment to combating terrorism and praised the dedication of overseas Pakistanis to the country. Munir reassured that Pakistan’s armed forces will successfully defeat the terrorist threat, specifically naming groups such as the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) and Baloch Republican Army (BRA).
“We will beat the hell out of these terrorists very soon. You think, these 1,500 terrorists, belonging to BLA, BLF and BRA, etc, can take away Balochistan from us?" he asked the spectators. He also reassured that the country's military would defeat the threat from terrorists, stating, “Do Pakistan’s enemies think that a handful of terrorists can decide the fate of Pakistan? Even ten generations of terrorists cannot harm Balochistan and Pakistan."
“As long as the brave people of this country stand with the Pakistan Armed Forces, your army can easily face every difficulty. Today, we are giving this clear message together that whatever stands in the way of Pakistan’s progress, we will remove that obstacle together," Munir reaffirmed.
The news agency ANI, citing Dawn, reported that Munir also showed solidarity with Palestinians impacted by Israel's military operations in Gaza, stating, "The hearts of Pakistanis beat in unison with the Muslims of Gaza."
