Pakistan’s own embassy in Serbia through its official Twitter handle has called out Imran Khan for not paying the salaries of Pakistani diplomats for the past three months and shared a song mocking him.
Moreover, it also claims that children of officials in Pakistan's embassy have been forced out of school due to non-payment of fees. In its tweets, the embassy has also claimed that Pakistan has broken all previous records of inflation.
It has further questioned how long will government officials remain silent and continue working for Khan while asking if this was 'Naya Pakistan'. In another tweet, it apologised and said that it was left with no other option.
The tweet comes with a music video mocking Imran Khan's dialogue 'Aap ne ghabrana nahi'. "If soap becomes costlier, don't use. If wheat becomes dearer, please don't eat," the lyrics of the song said with Imran Khan's 'Aapne ghabrana nahi' video inserted in between. The music video is by Saad Alvi, which was released on March 8. The title of the song is ‘Aap ne ghabrana nahi (Don’t get Afraid)’
As the message goes viral on Twitter that Imran Khan is facing a ‘rebellion’ from his government officials, Dr Arslan Khalid, focal person to Imran Khan on digital media, tweeted that according to the information from the foreign office, the account was hacked. The foreign ministry is looking into the matter, Dr Khalid tweeted.
According to Pakistan media Dawn, apart from Arslan Khalid's tweet, the foreign office has not issued any statement regarding the incident and also the video was not taken down as well.
Pakistani newspaper, Dawn published data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics that showed inflation edged up to 11.5pc from 9.2pc. The inflation is the highest increase noted in the past 20 months influenced by a record hike in fuel prices in October.
Earlier in November during a rally, a youth claiming to be a member of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party demanded that Imran Khan should resign as the Prime Minister owing to rising inflation in the country.
Amid speeches by political figures Raja Khurram Shehzad and Ali Nawaz Awan, as well as Federal Minister Asad Umar, some people asked the youth to say whatever he wanted. After which, the youth stepped up on stage, took the mic and stated that it is best for PM Imran Khan to resign.
Moreover, he also prophesied Pakistan's future by saying, "Everything will be exactly the same as Raja Khurram Shehzad has said. But Imran Khan will not be the Prime Minister of Pakistan."
