Pakistan's intelligence agency, guided by Chinese officials, has been gathering information about the Chenab Bridge in Jammu and Kashmir. This railway bridge connects the Reasi and Ramban districts, according to sources cited by India Today.
The tallest railway bridge in the world, the Chenab Bridge, just started testing and is anticipated to improve connectivity between Jammu and Kashmir and the rest of the nation. The sources claim that both Chinese and Pakistani security services have gathered crucial information regarding the bridge.
The government took more than two decades to complete the bridge in the Reasi region of Jammu. It is a portion of a 272-kilometer all-weather railway segment that will pass through Jammu before arriving in the Kashmir valley. However, there isn't a timeframe for finishing the project. Due to severe snowfall that causes blockades on the highway, the road that connects Kashmir to the rest of the nation is currently frequently closed throughout the winter.
The Chenab Bridge will provide India with a strategic edge along the tense border area. A new railway line is part of more than 50 roadway, railway, and electricity projects that would significantly improve the infrastructure of Kashmir, a region in the Himalayas that has long been a bone of contention between India and Pakistan.
India and Pakistan have fought two wars over Kashmir since gaining independence, with each country claiming the entire region but only holding a portion of it. Since 1989, Kashmir has been the scene of an armed insurgency that has claimed thousands of lives and attracted a significant military presence.
