Padma Awards 2024 declared on Indian Republic Day Eve: Full list of awardees

The Centre has released the list of winners of the Padma Awards 2024 on the eve of Republic Day. Padma Awards, one of the highest civilian Awards inthe country, are conferred in three categories, namely, Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri.
The awards are presented across diverse domains such as art, social work, public affairs, science and engineering, trade and industry, medicine, literature and education, sports, civil service, and more. The 'Padma Vibhushan' is conferred for outstanding and distinguished service, 'Padma Bhushan' for distinguished service of a high order, and 'Padma Shri' for distinguished service in any field. The announcement of these awards takes place annually on Republic Day.

The President of India confers these awards at ceremonial events conducted at Rashtrapati Bhawan, typically held in March or April each year.
For the year 2024, the President approved the conferment of 132 Padma awards, up from 106 such awards last year. The list comprises five Padma Vibhushan, 17 Padma Bhushan, and 110 Padma Shri awards. While 30 awardees are women, the list also includes nine persons from the category of “Foreigners/NRI/PIO/OCI” and nine posthumous awardees.
