The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has formed a dedicated team to lead its upcoming Gen Z Outreach Programme. The initiative aims to build stronger engagement with young people across the country. The party plans to create a more direct and regular dialogue with the younger generation through the programme.
According to a top party source on Saturday, "BJP National President Nitin Nabin, National General Secretaries Smriti Irani, Vinod Tawde, Gujarat Minister Harsh Sanghavi, Chhattisgarh Minister OP Choudhary, along with several other leaders, have been included in the team constituted for the outreach initiative."
The BJP is expected to begin the Gen Z outreach programme soon. The initiative will focus on understanding the aspirations, concerns and expectations of young people. It is also expected to give members of Gen Z an opportunity to interact directly with BJP leaders and share their views on issues that affect them.
The party plans to use discussions, interactions and other engagement activities to strengthen its connection with young voters. The outreach will also help the BJP expand its engagement with a generation that forms an important part of the country's young population.
The team includes leaders with experience in the party organisation as well as those holding political and government responsibilities. The BJP's decision to bring together leaders from different backgrounds reflects its focus on combining organisational experience with younger leadership for the outreach effort.
The party is expected to announce more details about the programme in the coming days. The schedule, format and locations of the planned interactions have not yet been announced.
The formation of the Gen Z outreach team came on the same day as BJP national president Nitin Nabin chaired the first introductory meeting of the party's newly constituted national team. The meeting formally marked the beginning of the new tenure of the BJP's national office-bearers.
Ahead of the meeting, all six stanzas of the national song 'Vande Mataram' were recited. The newly constituted national team includes several changes in key organisational positions.
Vinod Tawde and Sunil Bansal will continue as National General Secretaries. The party has also appointed Biplab Kumar Deb, Smriti Irani, Satish Poonia, Gajendra Patel, Harish Dwivedi and Sanjay Bhatia as new National General Secretaries.
Union Minister Piyush Goyal has also received the additional responsibility of Treasurer in the BJP’s National Office-Bearers' team. Rajesh Mangal from Rajasthan has been appointed as the National Joint Treasurer.
The BJP's latest organisational changes come as the party prepares to strengthen its engagement with younger voters. The proposed Gen Z programme is expected to provide a platform for direct conversations between young people and party leaders. The initiative will also allow the party to understand the issues and expectations shaping the views of the younger generation.
With senior leaders such as Nitin Nabin, Smriti Irani and Vinod Tawde included in the outreach team, the BJP is placing its organisational leadership at the centre of the initiative. Leaders from Gujarat and Chhattisgarh have also been included, giving the team representation from different states.
The programme is expected to cover various forms of interaction with Gen Z, though the BJP has not yet announced the complete structure. Further information on the programme's launch, locations and activities is likely to be released soon.
