The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) has released footage of what it described as the first armed operation by its newly formed female unit, the Karima Armed Assault Division (KAAD). The separatist militant group claimed that nine Pakistani military personnel were killed in attacks in Balochistan.

The footage shows KAAD fighters carrying rifles and firing at a three-vehicle Quick Response Force (QRF) convoy in Turbat on September 22. The convoy included an armoured vehicle and was travelling along the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) highway in Balochistan province.

A female commander is seen briefing the fighters before the operation. The footage then shows the fighters attacking the convoy from close range. The BLF said the operation demonstrated the unit's training and coordination.

BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch said several Pakistani military vehicles were severely damaged in the attack. He said the group's Qurban unit supported the female fighters during the operation. According to him, the Qurban unit also fought Pakistani forces that attempted to surround the attackers and helped them withdraw.

Baloch said Qurban unit fighter Chakar Murad, alias Dileep Jan, was killed during the operation. Another section of the footage shows KAAD members carrying out snap checks of vehicles in the Mangchar area of Kalat.

In a separate attack, the Baloch Republican Army (BRA) targeted a site operated by Mari Energies Limited in the Beh Loti area of Dera Bugti. The group used rockets and heavy weapons in the assault. BRA spokesperson Sarbaz Baloch said three company employees were killed and several others were injured.

Sarbaz said Pakistani forces later engaged members of what the group described as a local state-backed armed group. According to the statement, nine Pakistani military personnel and three members of the armed group were killed. The BRA also said six of its fighters died in the clashes, according to The Balochistan Post.

The Baloch Republican Guards (BRG) separately claimed that its forces seized Haji Shehr and used explosives to destroy a local police station. The group also said that BRA fighters entered Eri Shehr, took control of government facilities and withdrew safely after completing the operation.

The BLF's new female unit is named after Karima Baloch, a prominent pro-independence activist and the first woman chairperson of the Baloch Students Organisation-Azad (BSO-Azad). She was found dead in Toronto, Canada, in 2020.
