NIA offers Rs 10 lakh reward each for two wanted in VHP leader's murder in Punjab

The NIA announced a cash reward of Rs 10 lakh each for two wanted individuals linked to the murder of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Vikas Prabhakar in Punjab. The agency also released photographs of the pair as part of its ongoing investigation.
In a statement, the NIA identified Harjit Singh, also known as Laddi, son of Kuldip Singh from Garpadhana village in Nawanshahr, Punjab, and Kulbeer Singh, alias Sidhu, son of Sukhvinder Singh from Yamuna Nagar, Police Station Sadar Jagadhari, Haryana, as fugitives in the murder case registered on May 9 this year.
Vikas Bagga, also known as Prabhakar, served as the president of the VHP's Nangal unit. He tragically lost his life when two unidentified assailants on a motorcycle fatally shot him at his shop in Nangal town, situated in Punjab's Rupnagar district, on April 13, 2024. The assailants entered Bagga's confectionery shop near Rupnagar railway station, fired at him, and swiftly fled the scene.
Following the incident, the Union Home Ministry recommended an investigation by the NIA to uncover the broader conspiracy behind Prabhakar's killing. The case against the accused has been registered under various sections of the IPC, UA(P) Act, and Arms Act.
The NIA has provided contact details for reporting any information that could lead to the arrest or apprehension of the accused individuals.
The statement assures informants that their identities will remain confidential for their own protection.
