Mamata Banerjee nominates Abhishek Banerjee for All-Party Delegation on India’s global anti-terrorism outreach

All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) reported that its Chairperson, Mamata Banerjee, has nominated National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee to be part of the all-party delegation for India's international outreach against terrorism.
In a post on X, AITC noted Abhishek Banerjee's nomination as a testament to the party's firm position against terrorism. “We’re delighted to share that our Chairperson, Smt. @MamataOfficial has nominated National GS Shri @abhishekaitc to represent Trinamool Congress in the all-party delegation for India’s global outreach against terrorism. At a time when the world must unite to confront the growing threat of terrorism, Shri Abhishek Banerjee’s inclusion brings both conviction and clarity to the table. His presence will not only reflect Bengal’s firm stand against terror but also strengthen India’s collective voice on the global stage,” the X post stated.
The government formed a multi-party delegation to counter global misinformation and highlight India’s zero-tolerance policy on terrorism.
The delegation consists of Members of Parliament across various parties. The government assigned them into seven groups of 8–9 members each. A leader from each group will guide the outreach efforts on the global level.
Union Minister Kiren Rijiju posted the list of MPs on Saturday. He pointed out the united position of the Indian Parliament.
“One mission. One message. One Bharat. Seven All-Party Delegations will soon engage key nations under Operation Sindoor, reflecting our collective resolve against terrorism. Here’s the list of MPs & delegations representing this united front,” Rijiju said on X.
Group 1 is headed by BJP MP Baijayant Panda. They will travel to Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Algeria. BJP MPs Nishikant Dubey, Phangnon Konyak, and Rekha Sharma are also part of the group. AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, nominated Rajya Sabha MP Satnam Singh Sandhu, and former Foreign Secretary Harsh Shringla are members of the group.
Group 2 is headed by BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad. They will visit European nations such as the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, and Denmark. BJP MPs Daggubati Purandeswari and Samik Bhattacharya, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi, nominated Rajya Sabha MP Ghulam Ali Khatana, Congress MP Amar Singh, and former Minister of State for External Affairs MJ Akbar are part of this group.
Group 3 is headed by Sanjay Kumar Jha, National Working President of Janata Dal (United). This nine-member delegation will travel to Indonesia, Malaysia, the Republic of Korea, Japan, and Singapore. BJP MPs Aparajita Sarangi, Brij Lal, Pradan Baruah, and Hemang Joshi are part of the group. Trinamool Congress's Yusuf Pathan, CPI(M)'s John Brittas, former External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid, and Mohan Kumar are also in the group.
Group 4 is headed by Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Eknath Shinde. They will travel to the United Arab Emirates, Liberia, Congo, and Sierra Leone. BJP MPs Bansuri Swaraj, Atul Garg, and Manan Kumar Mishra are in the group. Indian Union Muslim League MP Mohammed Basheer, BJD’s Sasmit Patra, and Sujan Chinoy are the opposition members in this group.
Group 5 is headed by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor. This group will travel to the United States, Panama, Guyana, Brazil and Colombia. BJP MPs Shashank Mani Tripathi, Bhubaneswar Kalita, and Tejasvi Surya, LJP (Ram Vilas)'s Shambhavi Choudhary, TDP’s GM Harish Balayogi, Shiv Sena’s Milind Deora, and JMM’s Sarfaraz Ahmad are members of the group. Former Ambassador to the US, Taranjit Singh Sandhu, will also join them.
Group 6 is headed by DMK MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi. They will travel to Spain, Greece, Slovenia, Latvia, and Russia. Samajwadi Party’s Rajeev Rai, National Conference’s Mian Altaf Ahmad, BJP’s Brijesh Chowta, RJD’s Prem Chand Gupta, and AAP’s Ashok Kumar Mittal are in the group. Manjeev S Puri and Jawed Ashraf will accompany them.
Group 7 is headed by NCP (SCP) MP Supriya Sule. This group will represent India in Egypt, Qatar, Ethiopia, and South Africa. BJP MPs Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Anurag Singh Thakur, and V. Muraleedharan, Congress MPs Manish Tewari and Anand Sharma, TDP’s Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu, AAP’s Vikramjit Singh Sahney, and former permanent representative of India to the UN, Syed Akbaruddin, are in this group.
Operation Sindoor commenced on May 7. It targeted terror hubs in Pakistan after the deadly terror strike in Pahalgam on April 22.
