Telangana's chief minister, K Chandrasekhar Rao, stated on Thursday that ₹105 crores would be made available for the June 2 celebration of the state's 20th anniversary. He said that the statehood of Telangana was hard-won and the culmination of six decades of democratic struggles soaked in sacrifices.
Speaking at the Dr. B R Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat's inaugural meeting of district collectors and superintendents of police, he stated the anniversary of Formation Day should represent an appropriate recognition of the sacrifices made by martyrs for the cause of statehood.
According to a statement from the chief minister's office, he instructed the finance department to transfer the funds to each of the 33 district collectors in the state so they could organize the 21-day celebrations on a grand scale.
KCR said Telangana state had become a reality after six decades of struggle and sacrifices. “The statehood was achieved in the most democratic way without much bloodshed. After its formation, the state had become a role model for the entire country with a series of welfare and developmental programs,” he said.
The nine years of rapid strides made by the State helped it to emerge as the pride of the nation, he said, going on to the details of the achievements of the State, including the Haritha Haram campaign, which he said was an ideal example for the entire country.
Emphasizing on the benefits of early plantation of paddy, the Chief Minister insisted that paddy plantation should be taken up well in advance by advancing the crop season. He also wanted the Collectors to issue pattas for Podu lands as per the norms.
Chandrashekhar Rao, who asked the Collectors to coordinate with Ministers, legislators, and public representatives to make the Formation Day celebrations a success and to follow the day-wise schedule finalized for the districts, commended the efforts put in by the officials and employees for the success of the State in the implementation of special initiatives during the last nine years.
On June 2, KCR will dedicate the celebrations to the martyrs of Telangana at Gun Park in Hyderabad. Later, he will unfurl the national flag at the Telangana secretariat premises and address the participants.
Daily programs will be held in accordance with the previously announced schedule to highlight the advancements made by the state in fields such as power, irrigation, agriculture, health care, and industry.
The programs will also highlight initiatives being carried out to improve the well-being of farmers and other groups of people.
