Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan stated on Thursday that Jharkhand is in danger and urged the people of the state to defend it after Ghulam Ahmed Mir, the Congress senator in charge of Jharkhand affairs, caused controversy with his pre-election pledge to give LPG cylinders to "infiltrators" for Rs 450.
"Congress is announcing to give gas cylinders to intruders in Jharkhand. Congress Jharkhand state in-charge Ghulam Ahmed Mir is saying that we will give cylinders to intruders for Rs 450... These are those intruders who have come from Bangladesh to our country...I want to say that the state is in danger and you all have to save it," said Chouhan. CR Kesavan, the national spokesperson for the BJP, posted a video of Ghulam Ahmed Mir promising illegal immigrants gas cylinder benefits on X.
"Congress Leader and AICC Jharkhand in-charge Ghulam Ahmed Mir promising gas cylinder benefits to illegal immigrants. The crooked Congress will not hesitate to go to any extent and spread its dangerous, toxic politics of religious appeasement and polarisation," Kesavan posted on X. Before the election, Ghulam Ahmed Mir caused a commotion when he pledged to provide LPG cylinders to everyone, including "infiltrators," for Rs 450. "As soon as the government is formed, from December 1, the price of a gas cylinder will be just Rs 450 for everyone, whether he is Hindu, Muslim, or an infiltrator," said Mir in a video that was shared by BJP's CR Kesavan on X.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah slammed the Hemant Soren administration earlier today, claiming that the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) was corrupt and that if the BJP took power, they would expel the infiltrators from the state and enact legislation to restore the tribals' encroached land.
"Hemant Soren government has not allowed to implement schemes of PM Modi as it is mired in corruption. We will ensure industries in Jharkhand so that the labourers do not have to go to other states for work. Hemant Soren is not bothered to build industries in Jharkhand or create electricity. There are mines of aluminium and iron ore but Hemant Soren is not bothered that they are manufactured here. He is only concerned about allowing the infiltrators to enter Jharkhand," said Amit Shah while addressing an election campaign in Giridih. The remaining 38 seats will be up for election on November 20. The vote counting is scheduled for November 23.
