ISIS spokesman Abu Hudhayfah al-Ansari has issued a chilling call for violence, urging 'lone wolves' globally to carry out mass attacks against Christians and Jews throughout the month of Ramadan. He labelled Ramadan as the 'month of jihad' and instructed extremists to target the US, Europe, and Israel.
In a 41-minute audio recording commemorating the 10-year anniversary of ISIS's declaration of a caliphate in Iraq and Syria, Abu Hudhayfah al-Ansari encouraged Muslims to abandon their homes and join and strengthen jihadist movements.
ISIS-K (Islamic State Khorasan) received praise from the ISIS spokesperson for the terrorist attack at a Moscow concert hall, resulting in the deaths of at least 143 civilians. In January, the spokesperson launched a campaign titled 'Kill Them Wherever You Find Them,' urging followers to refocus on terrorist activities.
He emphasised that the Israel-Palestine conflict extends beyond Israel and is perceived as a religious ideological war against Jews. He called for continued violence until their perceived enemy, described as the antichrist, was eliminated. In his audio message, he advocated for various methods of attack, including explosives, incendiary bombs, bullets, knives, and vehicular assaults.
ISIS-K, derived from an ancient Persian term denoting the Khorasan region spanning parts of Iran, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, stands out as the most significant threat among splinter factions of the main ISIS group.
Their propaganda, disseminated in regional languages as well as English, pledges to establish a caliphate across this territory. Another notable group is the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), operating in the Chad Basin region encompassing Chad, Cameroon, Niger, and Nigeria.
