Iran and its allied forces have launched a major new phase of their ongoing military campaign against Israel, calling it “Wave 93” under “Operation True Promise 4.” According to Iran’s state broadcaster Press TV, the strikes targeted key Israeli military positions deep inside what it described as occupied territories. This development is being seen as a sharp escalation in the ongoing regional conflict and a direct response to recent hostilities.
The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) confirmed that the latest operation took place on Friday afternoon. It focused on strategic military locations in the northern and central parts of Israel. The IRGC also stated that this phase of the operation was dedicated to Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah and Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, who are regarded as prominent figures in resistance movements against Israel in the Middle East.
Reports described the attack as a “fierce assault,” in which several Israeli military positions were struck with precision. Areas such as Western Galilee, Haifa, Kafr Kanna, and Krayot were among the locations hit. These sites reportedly included troop gathering points and combat support centres. Press TV said that the goal of these strikes was to weaken the operational strength of Israeli forces in these regions through coordinated targeting.
The IRGC further explained that this operation was carried out jointly with what it called the Islamic Resistance. The strikes involved a mix of advanced weaponry, including both solid and liquid fuel missiles. These missiles were long-range and guided. Along with them, suicide drones were also deployed in large numbers. The military command emphasised that such attacks are not a one-time action, stating that the launches “will continue continuously, uninterruptedly, and shot after shot.”
This latest wave comes after a major incident on February 28, when an offensive was launched against Iran. According to Press TV, that attack resulted in the death of the former Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Seyyed Ali Khamenei, along with several senior military officials. Iran has described its ongoing operations, including Wave 93, as acts of self-defence aimed at protecting its sovereignty.
The report also highlighted that Iran’s response is linked to earlier attacks on its infrastructure. Tehran claims that its energy facilities and civilian areas were deliberately targeted. Press TV reported that these earlier strikes led to the deaths of hundreds of civilians, including around 170 children at a primary school in Minab. Iranian authorities have cited these incidents to justify their continued military response.
The IRGC has maintained that its retaliatory actions have been effective. It claimed that the strikes have “inflicted heavy losses” on both the United States and Israel. According to Press TV, the precision and scale of these attacks show the limits of the military strength and positioning of both countries in the region.
Overall, “Wave 93” marks another intense phase in the ongoing conflict. With continued missile and drone launches, Iran has signalled that its campaign under Operation True Promise 4 is far from over. The situation remains tense, with the possibility of further escalation as both sides continue to respond to each other’s actions.
