Iran unveils 1000 new weapons ahead of the national army day

The Iranian Army Ground Force on Tuesday unveiled 1,084 homegrown military armaments and equipment which are indigenously produced, optimized and overhauled.
According to the Iranian army, the unveiling ceremony, held a few days ahead of the Army Day on April 18, was attended by Army Commander Abdolrahim Mousavi and Commander of the Army's Ground Force KioumarsHeidari.
Among the unveiled gears and weapons were new tank transporters named Kian 800, Kian 700 and Kian 600, decks for pontoon bridges, a 30-millimeter grenade launcher simulator, and an electronic warfare system dubbed Arash.
They also included a portable radar jamming system installed on the homegrown Mohajer-6 drone, tactical command and control vehicles, transportation vehicles used to set up portable telecommunication stations, a tactical cellular system capable of providing mobile network coverage, and an air defense system named Majid.
A series of homegrown missiles were also unveiled during the ceremony, such as Almas, Sahand, Shafaq and Misaq missiles, Xinhua reported.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the ceremony, Heidari said the Shafaq missile, which can be installed on helicopters, has a range of 20 kilometers and is capable of hitting targets with pinpoint accuracy.
Mousavi said the unveiled gears and armaments were only part of the Iranian armed forces' achievements and advances which cannot be fully displayed, adding that more weapons and systems will be unveiled later on.
