Intel India has partnered with the government's IndiaAI mission to launch a new initiative to strengthen AI skills and capabilities across the nation. Established through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), this collaboration is designed to equip youth, professionals, startups, and government leaders with the tools and knowledge to harness AI for public benefit and improved governance.
"The MoU outlines a framework for cooperation between Intel India and IndiaAI Mission to drive focused initiatives that will enable students, startups, and public sector leaders to develop and apply AI skills and competencies for social impact and good governance," as the company statement reads.
The partnership will concentrate on four main initiatives: YuvaAI, StartupAI, IndiaAI Dialogues, and expanding Bhashini's reach to underserved areas. YuvaAI, under the Intel AI for Youth initiative, aims to help school students build AI-based solutions that create positive social change. StartupAI is designed to support emerging AI startups by offering access to technology, expert business advice, and market strategy guidance through Intel’s Startup Programme, using a mix of group sessions and one-on-one mentoring.
Aimed at boosting AI awareness among government officials and policy experts, the India AI Dialogues and Intel's Digital Readiness for Leaders program will conduct workshops and hands-on sessions to support better policymaking. Expanding the Bhashini platform to reach remote classrooms nationwide will help overcome language challenges and enhance students' learning experiences.
According to Abhishek Singh, Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Electronics and IT and CEO of the IndiaAI Mission, the collaboration is also setting up a data lab to equip young people with data science and artificial intelligence skills. "Our partnership with Intel for YuvaAI has helped train thousands of students in the basics of Artificial Intelligence. We look forward to working with Intel to get the best of their global technical experts in contributing to the IndiaAI Mission," he expressed.
