According to the Indian Navy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) coincided with the continued mission deployment of the Indian Navy vessel INS Trikand in the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman.
The Indian Navy highlighted that INS Trikand, in line with the Prime Minister's vision of Security and Growth for All in the Region (SAGAR), actively contributes to regional maritime security and ensures the safe movement of trade.
The Navy tweeted, "Indian Navy's stealth frigate #INSTrikand mission deployed in the Persian Gulf & Gulf of Oman, contributing to #maritimesecurity in the region, ensuring safe movement of trade & realizing the Hon'ble PM @narendramodi's vision of #SAGAR."
SAGAR, India's strategic strategy for the Indian Ocean unveiled in 2015, underscores the growing importance of marine cooperation, commons, and security. The mission deployment of INS Trikand in the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman exemplifies India's commitment to the principles of SAGAR. By actively maintaining a presence in these strategically significant regions, INS Trikand upholds maritime security, facilitates the safe movement of trade, and supports Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of Security and Growth for All in the Region.
India's strategic initiative, Security and Growth for All in the Region (SAGAR), is designed to bolster economic and security cooperation with neighboring maritime nations. Through SAGAR, India actively supports the development of maritime security capabilities in these countries, emphasizing a collaborative approach towards fostering regional stability and promoting growth in the maritime domain.
