The Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force conducted a tri-service integrated multi-domain exercise, codenamed Prachand Prahar, in the high-altitude Himalayan terrain along the Northern Borders in Arunachal Pradesh. India's three-day military exercise kicked off on March 25, deploying advanced surveillance assets from all three forces. These included the IAF’s long-range surveillance aircraft, the Navy’s maritime domain awareness aircraft, helicopters, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles or UAVs, space-based resources, and the Army’s elite Special Forces. Together, they worked to enhance domain awareness and identify simulated targets.
Once the simulated targets were identified, they were quickly removed by a coordinated firepower barrage from a range of military assets. The exercise included fighter jets, long-range rocket systems, medium artillery, armed helicopters, swarm drones, loitering munitions, and kamikaze drones, all operating in a challenging electronic warfare environment. Top military officials, including Eastern Army Commander Lieutenant General Ram Chander Tiwari, Eastern Air Commander Air Marshal Surat Singh, and Navy's Commodore Ajay Yadav, recently reviewed a military exercise and were impressed with the high standards displayed by the participants.
This exercise follows Exercise Poorvi Prahar, conducted in November 2024, which focused on the coordinated use of aviation assets.
Eastern Army Command shared a post on X that said, "Indian Army's Eastern Command along with the Indian Air Force and Indian Navy showcase their integrated multi-spectrum operational capability in the arduous mountainous terrain along the Northern Borders --Long Range Vectors, Precision Artillery, Swarm Drones, Loiter Munitions and Attack Helicopters struck multiple targets with lethal precision in a contested Electronic environment. "
Exercise Prachand Prahar demonstrated the effectiveness of integrated planning, command, and control, along with the seamless coordination of surveillance and firepower platforms across the Army, Navy, and Air Force, covering all aspects of warfare.
The exercise highlighted the Armed Forces' commitment to joint operations, precision, and technological advancement. It reinforced their capability to conduct multi-domain operations with exceptional coordination, ensuring India remains prepared to deter and respond decisively to any emerging threats along its strategic borders.
