Indian coast guard delegation engages in world border security congress in Istanbul

In Istanbul, Turkiye, the World Border Security Congress 2024 hosted the participation of a two-member delegation from the Indian Coast Guard, led by Additional Director General S Paramesh. The delegation actively contributed to discussions and exchanges on border security matters during the congress.
Their presence highlighted India's commitment to engaging in international forums to address border security challenges. This participation also demonstrated the Indian Coast Guard's proactive stance in enhancing border security measures and fostering global cooperation in tackling such issues.

The event further emphasised the convening of Coast Guards and Border agencies from around the world, with the aim of fostering cooperation and addressing contemporary maritime issues.
The Indian Coast Guard shared a post on X, announcing the participation of a two-member delegation led by Additional Director General S Paramesh, PTM, TM, in the World Border Security Congress 2024, held from April 24 to 26 in Istanbul, Turkiye.
During the congress, ADGICG presented a maritime perspective on "Maritime Border Challenges" and engaged in discussions on potential solutions. The event highlighted the convergence of Coast Guards and Border Agencies from across the globe, aiming to foster cooperation and address contemporary maritime issues.
India and Turkey have historical connections, with diplomatic relations being established and ambassadors exchanged in 1948. The Ministry of External Affairs reports regular high-level visits between the two nations. Bilateral relations have been further strengthened by recent visits of leaders from both countries.
Furthermore, parliamentary delegations have exchanged visits between the two countries, facilitating interactions among Members of Parliament at multilateral parliamentary conferences.
