Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said that India is steadily moving towards becoming the global hub of organic farming, and he pointed out that this form of farming has always been natural and traditional for the country.
Fresh off the NDAs major win in Bihar, Modi joked that when he saw people waving their gamcha as he arrived, it felt as if "Bihar winds" had reached Tamil Nadu before him.

At the South India Natural Farming Summit 2025, where he inaugurated the event and an exhibition, the Prime Minister also released the twenty first instalment of PM KISAN, which amounts to more than Rs 18000 crore, to support nine crore farmers across the country.
While speaking at the event, he said that the heavy use of chemical fertilisers and pesticides has reduced soil fertility and he strongly supported organic farming. He explained that crop diversification and organic farming can help solve soil related problems and he added that organic farming also helps deal with climate change challenges.
The Prime Minister noticed two girl students holding placards praising his vision for the nations economic transformation and he asked the security staff to bring the placards to him and he appreciated the students for their gesture.
Earlier, he held a roadshow in the city where people turned out in large numbers to welcome him.
He travelled from the city airport to the CODISSIA grounds covering around 2 kilometers and people and party workers stood along both sides of the road to greet him.
Cultural performances were organised and people showered flowers on his vehicle while he waved to the crowd to acknowledge their greetings.
Earlier in the day, PM Modi travelled to Andhra Pradesh where he attended the birth centenary celebrations of Sri Satya Sai Baba.
