India has decided that any future act of terror will be treated as an act of war against the country and will be responded to accordingly, top government sources said. This decision comes amid continuous attacks between India and Pakistan on each other's military facilities, further escalating the ongoing conflict.
Earlier today, India reported that Pakistan’s military is moving its troops to forward areas. "The Pakistan military is observed to be moving their troops to border areas," Colonel Sofiya Qureshi said in a press briefing, along with Wing Commander Vyomika Singh and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri.
Qureshi confirmed that Pakistan launched a high-speed missile in Punjab and targeted medical facilities in Srinagar, Avantipura, and Udhampur. "A befitting reply has been given to Pakistani actions," Qureshi stated.
She further explained that "Pakistan military used high-speed missiles at 1:40 AM to target an air base in Punjab." Pakistan also used drones, long-range weapons, loitering munitions, and jets to attack India's military sites along the Western front, Qureshi added.
In response to these actions by Pakistan, India has responded cautiously, according to Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri. "It is the Pakistani act that constituted provocation and escalation," Misri said. He dismissed Pakistan's claims of missiles being fired at religious sites, calling them "ludicrous."
India also rejected Pakistan's claims about damage to critical infrastructure, labelling them "completely false." The Indian military provided timestamped pictures to refute Pakistan’s claims about the destruction of air force stations and bases in India.
"Indian armed forces remain in a high state of operational readiness. All hostile actions have been effectively countered," Wing Commander Vyomika Singh told reporters. Singh confirmed that India targeted Pakistani military assets in Rahim Yar Khan.
"Pakistan attempted a malicious misinformation campaign. Its claims of destroying our S-400 system and airfields at Surat were false," Singh said. Indian armed forces carried out precision strikes only on identified military targets in response to Pakistan’s actions, she added.
Singh concluded by saying that Indian armed forces remain committed to non-escalation, provided Pakistan reciprocates.
