India applauds Kuwait's first ever Hindi radio programme

The Indian Embassy in Kuwait announced the commencement of the first-ever Hindi radio broadcast in the country. They commended Kuwait's Ministry of Information for launching a Hindi programme on Kuwait Radio, airing every Sunday on FM 93.3 and AM 96.3.
The Indian Embassy in Kuwait highlighted that this initiative would enhance the bilateral relations between the two countries.
In a post on X, the Indian Embassy in Kuwait expressed appreciation to the Ministry of Information for initiating the first-ever Hindi radio programme on Kuwait Radio. The programme airs on FM 93.3 and AM 96.3 every Sunday from 8:30 to 9:00 pm, starting April 21, 2024. This move is seen as a significant step to bolster the ties between India and Kuwait.
According to the Indian Embassy in Kuwait, the Indian community, comprising approximately 1 million individuals, holds the distinction of being the largest expatriate community in Kuwait. It is considered the community of first preference among expatriate groups in the country.
Kuwait is home to a diverse array of Indian professionals, including engineers, doctors, chartered accountants, scientists, software experts, management consultants, architects, technicians, nurses, as well as retail traders and businessmen.
Notably, the Indian Business Community in Kuwait has established a strong presence in the local market, particularly in retail and distributorship sectors. The Ministry of External Affairs highlights the enduring and amicable relations between India and Kuwait, which are deeply rooted in history and have endured the test of time.
Kuwait has historically maintained strong trade ties with India, with the Indian rupee serving as the official currency in Kuwait until 1961, the year 2021-22 marked the 60th anniversary of the inception of diplomatic relations between the two nations.
On April 17, Indian Ambassador to Kuwait, Adarsh Swaika, met with Kuwait Deputy Prime Minister, Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah. During the meeting, Swaika commended the expatriate-friendly initiatives implemented by Sheikh Fahad during his tenure and briefed him on the latest developments within the Indian community.
The Indian Embassy in Kuwait announced on X that Ambassador Adarsh Swaika had a meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Acting Minister of Interior, H.E. Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah. During the meeting, Ambassador Swaika expressed gratitude to the Deputy Prime Minister for implementing expatriate-friendly measures during his tenure and briefed him on the latest developments concerning the Indian community.
