India and Zimbabwe share a longstanding history of close and friendly relations. Both countries are members of the G20 in WTO and hold similar positions on intellectual property rights (IPRs) and agricultural subsidies. Zimbabwe consistently supports India in various multilateral forums and aligns with our resolutions in the United Nations.
The CII-EXIM Bank Conclave on India-Africa Project Partnership, launched in 2005 with the backing of the Ministry of External Affairs and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of the Government of India, has become a significant platform. This annual event has successfully facilitated Indian companies in expanding their presence and operations in Africa, playing a vital role in promoting bilateral economic ties between India and African nations.
According to the website, in recognition of the multi-dimensional growth in economic engagement between India and Africa, the Conclave has been renamed as "CII EXIM Bank Conclave on India Africa Growth Partnership." This change reflects the evolving nature of the relationship, expanding beyond the previous focus on "Project Partnership" to foster comprehensive growth between the two regions.
